The set has been designed to test 11 KV and 33 KV cables, fittings, switchgears and high voltage installations. The desired DC voltage is applied to the “system” under test. The voltage and leakage current are indicated by the meters. These values help in determining the insulation resistance and dielectric strength of the “system”. The set basically consists of a double wound HV transformer and rectifier network. The HV side of the output is brought out through a special HV cable with clamp and lower side is near earth potential, brought out through intermediate circuitry and terminated on “Earth” terminal. The circuitry enables the tripping of the supply to the HV transformer in case leakage current exceeding the pre-set value. Provisions are made for gradual increase of output voltage, “Zero Start” & “EARTH” Inter-locks.NEON lamps are provided for indicating “INPUT”, “EARTH” & “HT ON” status. Voltmeter and Milli-ammeter are provided for indicating the output voltage & leakage current. The tripping current can be pre-set by a potentiometer. The set comprises of two compact & portable units, housed in VIP-ALFA suitcases for easy portability.

• 0- 35 KV AC @ 20 mA or 0- 70 KV DC @ 10 mA, continuously variable.
• The set will comprise of three units, viz., Control, HV Transformer and HV Rectifier units.
• The Control & HV Resctifier units are housed in suitcases while the HV Trans.
• Unit is housed in Powder Coated MS cabinet.

The control unit incorporates the following features:
